Gigi Lui Che-heng

Dr. Gigi Lui Che-heng has built an impressive career at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering (formerly Building Services Engineering), where she was recently promoted to Senior Lecturer in January 2024. Her academic journey began at PolyU, where she earned her Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Building Services Engineering in 1995 and completed her PhD in 2001. Her expertise in fire safety engineering was recognized internationally when she became the sole recipient of the prestigious David B. Gratz Scholarship from the National Fire Protection Association in 2000, which acknowledges the international development of fire science and engineering programs. Starting as a Demonstrator in 2001, she has steadily advanced through academic ranks at PolyU, contributing significantly to the department's growth and development. Her professional credentials include membership in several engineering institutions, and she continues to shape the next generation of building services engineers through her teaching and research activities.
