Gareth Edgell

Gareth Edgell, Head of Computer Science at a leading UK independent school, brings over a decade of educational experience to his role, following a career in new media. He has been instrumental in introducing and growing Computer Science at his school through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL). Gareth's expertise extends to curriculum development, having contributed to qualification development for multiple Examination Boards in the UK and internationally, as well as assessment, where he has marked and moderated GCSE and A Level coursework and scripts. At Arm Education, Gareth teaches the comprehensive "Teaching with Physical Computing" Professional Certificate program, which includes four courses covering project-based learning, soft skills, practical application, and assessment strategies. His unique blend of industry experience and educational expertise enables him to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application in computer science education, preparing both educators and students for the evolving technological landscape.
