Frank Eijkenaar

Dr. Frank Eijkenaar is an Associate Professor at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he specializes in health economics. His research primarily focuses on the design, implementation, and effects of alternative payment models for healthcare providers, as well as performance measurement and risk adjustment in healthcare payment systems. Dr. Eijkenaar holds a Bachelor's degree in health sciences, a Master's degree in health economics, policy, and law, and a PhD in health economics, with his dissertation centered on pay-for-performance models for healthcare providers. He is actively involved in teaching both the bachelor’s program in health sciences and the master’s program in health economics, policy, and law at ESHPM. His contributions to the field include numerous publications on topics such as value-based healthcare and risk equalization, reflecting his commitment to improving healthcare systems through innovative economic strategies.
