Georgetown UniversityFrank Ambrosio serves as Professor of Philosophy and Senior Fellow at Georgetown University's Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship. After studying Italian language and literature in Florence, he completed his doctorate at Fordham University specializing in contemporary European Philosophy. His groundbreaking work includes founding the Georgetown University "MyDante Project," an innovative web-based platform for studying Dante's Commedia that has transformed how students engage with classical texts. He authored "Dante and Derrida: Face to Face" (2007) and created the popular "Philosophy, Religion and the Meaning of Life" course for The Teaching Company's Great Courses series. As former Director of Georgetown's interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Liberal Studies (2011-2016), he has received multiple teaching excellence awards. Beyond academia, he co-directs The Renaissance Company with Deborah R. Warin, leading adult study programs focused on Italian Renaissance culture. His work bridges traditional humanities with digital innovation, making complex philosophical and literary works accessible to modern audiences while maintaining their scholarly depth.
