Floriana Gargiulo is a researcher in Social Science at the GEMASS laboratory (Groupe d’Étude des Méthodes de l’Analyse Sociologique de la Sorbonne) in Paris. She holds a PhD in physics, and her research has evolved from studying Complex Systems to focusing on Computational Social Science, where she combines data science with modeling tools. Throughout her career, Dr. Gargiulo has addressed various theoretical and applied research questions, contributing to publications in areas such as complex networks analysis, dynamics of networks, human mobility, opinion dynamics, and the science of science. Recently, her work has concentrated on attention mechanisms on social media, public debates regarding vaccines, and human behavior in collaborative projects. Currently, she is engaged in several research initiatives within the Sociology of Science, particularly examining the epistemic impact of Artificial Intelligence on scientific and technological ecosystems.
