Flora Amato

Dr. Flora Amato serves as Associate Professor at the University of Naples Federico II's Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer and Control Engineering (2009) and a summa cum laude degree in Computer Science (2005) from the University of Naples Federico II. Through her Coursera course "Python: Istruzioni per l'uso," she helps students understand programming fundamentals and artificial intelligence applications. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, knowledge management, and information integration, with over 190 publications in prestigious journals. As head of the IDEA (Intelligent Data-driven Systems) Lab, she leads research in machine learning and deep learning. Her international experience includes visiting researcher positions at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the University of Maryland. She currently serves as Principal Investigator for multiple European projects including CREA3 and coordinates research activities with industry partners like the Meditech Consortium and Micron Technology.
