Emilie Johnson

Emilie Johnson is a seasoned media production professional and lecturer at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she serves as the Media Production & Technology Manager. With nearly 20 years of experience in video production, Emilie has garnered recognition for her work as an editor, director of photography, and director across various fields, including broadcast journalism, visual storytelling, and documentary filmmaking.She holds multiple certifications in post-production applications, covering areas such as motion graphics, video and audio production, and augmented reality. Prior to her current role at CU Boulder, Emilie worked as a news producer in the Denver market. At the university, she oversees two equipment checkout facilities and has been instrumental in designing creative spaces, including augmented and extended reality labs, broadcast studios, and professional audio recording booths.Since 2017, Emilie has been teaching courses that focus on essential skills in media production, including "A Blueprint for Success – Your Video Pre-Production," "Bring Your Story to Life – Video Post-Production," and "Ready to Roll – The Video Production Process." Her courses aim to equip students with the practical knowledge needed to excel in the fast-evolving landscape of media production. Through her expertise and dedication to education, Emilie Johnson continues to inspire the next generation of media professionals at CU Boulder.
