Eduardo Manuel Puga Salazar is a university professor with a specialization in Didactics of History and a background in Anthropology. His expertise lies in Maya epigraphy and iconography, focusing on the writing techniques developed by Maya scribes. He explores themes such as gender representations, noble titles, female figures, attire, luxury art, deities, death, and Maya architecture. Since 2004, he has been part of the Archaeological Heritage Department of the Mérida City Council, conducting archaeological surveys and supervision across various localities. He has also collaborated on archaeological rescue and salvage projects and conducted epigraphic and iconographic analyses in partnership with the INAH Yucatán Center. Currently serving as the Coordinator of Archaeological Planning within the same department, he is also a candidate for a Master's degree in Library Science and Information at the Universidad de Oriente in Valladolid, Yucatán, where he is developing the "Aj Ts'ííb Naaj (House of the Scribe) Epigraphic Research Collection" project.
