Deakin UniversityDr. Ye Zhu is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Deakin University's School of Information Technology and the HDR Coordinator for the Data to Intelligence (D2i) Research Centre. He received his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Monash University in 2017, earning the prestigious Mollie Holman Medal for the best doctoral thesis of the year. Dr. Zhu’s research focuses on clustering analysis, anomaly detection, and similarity learning, with applications in pattern recognition. He has secured research grants totaling approximately AUD $860,000 and has published over 90 papers in top-tier AI and data science conferences and journals, including SIGKDD, ICML, IJCAI, and AAAI. An IEEE Senior Member and ACM Member, he has served as Program Chair and Program Committee member for major international conferences such as SIGKDD, AAAI, and IJCAI. Dr. Zhu has also led tutorials and workshops on anomaly detection at leading AI conferences, including KDD22, IJCAI23, and ECML23. Recognized for his contributions, he has received both an Early Career Researcher Award and a Teaching and Learning Award at Deakin University's School of IT.
