After completing his BA at York University, followed by MSW and PhD degrees from the University of Hong Kong, he has established himself as a leading researcher in public welfare attitudes and social service evaluation. His research portfolio spans multiple critical areas including social security systems, intercultural interactions in social services, digital inclusion for older adults, and the livelihood challenges of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. As a registered social worker since 2008, he combines academic research with practical insights, leading projects on inter-ethnic relations in social services and family caregiving in South Asian communities. His recent work includes investigating inequality and deprivation in Hong Kong's affluent communities and examining factors influencing happiness among aging adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining active involvement in academic publishing as editor-in-chief of Social Sciences and Humanities Open.
