Dr. Jean-Baptiste, a Marie Curie Global Fellow at Ardhi University in Tanzania, specializes in studying infrastructure systems' vulnerability to climate-related risks and their interrelation with society and the environment in low-income countries, drawing from extensive international research experience in infrastructure across Mexico and Australia, as well as risk assessment and adaptation in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. They lead the Climate Change and Environmental Risk Research Group at the Institute of Human Settlements Studies, coordinate the Housing Network of the International Association People-Environment Studies (IAPS), and serve as Lead Coordinating Author for the Housing and Informal Settlements chapter in the Second Assessment Report on Climate Change and Cities (ARC3-2, Urban Climate Change Research Network, Cambridge Press: 2016).
