Hamad Bin Khalifa UniversityDr. Mustafa Osman Ismail Elamin is an Assistant Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), where he focuses on the intersection of Islam and global issues. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2017, where his research evaluated political corruption and lobbying in the UK. His notable works include "Conflict Management Between Islam & The West: A Comparative Study of the Islamic Approach & International Practices" (2014) and "Regional Geopolitical Conflict & Fragile State: Foreign Influence & Lebanon’s Sovereignty" (2021, in progress). Dr. Elamin has held significant diplomatic positions, including serving as Sudan's Foreign Minister, Ambassador to the United Nations, and Special Envoy of the Arab League to Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine. His extensive experience in both academia and diplomacy informs his teaching and research, particularly in conflict resolution and international relations. Through his courses at HBKU, he aims to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding Islam and its role in contemporary global issues.
