Dr. Melissa Bathish is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, where she serves as the Director of the Clinical Learning Center and Simulation Lab. Her professional focus is on simulation-based education, which she utilizes as a fundamental approach to developing critical clinical and decision-making skills among nursing students. With a strong background as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Bathish emphasizes experiential learning and deliberate practice through innovative methods, including mixed reality, 360-degree videos, and high-fidelity manikins.Since joining the faculty in 2006, Dr. Bathish has dedicated her scholarship to enhancing educational outcomes in simulation-based learning and supporting faculty in implementing these experiences. Her teaching philosophy is centered on preparing nursing students to become confident, caring, and competent providers of patient care while adapting to their evolving learning needs.
