Hamad Bin Khalifa UniversityDr. Louay Safi is an esteemed Instructor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, specializing in political science and Islamic thought. He is the author of 20 books, including "Islam & the Trajectory of Globalization" (Routledge, 2021) and "The Qur’anic Narrative" (Praeger, 2008). Dr. Safi has a rich background in both academia and activism, having served as a founding member of the Syrian National Council and the Syrian National Coalition from 2011 to 2014. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics related to Islam, democracy, and conflict resolution. In addition to his academic work, he is a senior fellow with the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) in Washington, D.C. Dr. Safi's extensive experience includes engaging with international organizations and contributing to discussions on governance and human rights in the Muslim world.
