Dimitri Leone holds an MSc in Economics and two PhDs—one in Economics from the University of York (2005) and another in Financial Economics from the University of Naples (2001). His research primarily investigates how the predictive capabilities of Early Warning Systems (EWS) for forecasting systemic banking crises can be enhanced by incorporating variables related to banking sector concentration, securitization activities, and systemic contagion mechanisms. Additionally, he explores the impact of corruption and crime on economic growth and is developing semiparametric techniques to analyze wage evolution and per capita income distribution globally and within EU economies. Leone's scholarly contributions have been featured in various reputable journals, including Work, Employment, and Society, The Journal of Business Ethics, and The Journal of Banking and Finance. He has also served as a referee for 30 different economics and finance journals.
