Dr. Larisa Soldatova is a Reader in Data Science at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she has been the Programme Convenor for the online MSc Data Science since November 2017. With nearly 20 years of experience teaching Data Science modules to undergraduate and master's students, she also supervises final year projects, MSc, and PhD dissertations. Dr. Soldatova is internationally recognized for her expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications within the Life Sciences. She has led several international research initiatives, including the European project AdaLab (2014-2018), which focused on AI applications for automated experimentation and systems biology. Additionally, she has been involved in the high-profile Robot Scientist project for over 15 years, which achieved the first-ever automated scientific discovery. Dr. Soldatova co-leads the ACTION project on cancer (2017-2021), funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the UK, aimed at developing a decision support system for cancer treatment that performs comparably to human oncologists. Her research contributions have been published in prestigious journals such as Science and Nature Biotechnology, underscoring her significant impact on the field of data science and AI in healthcare.
