Dr. Kim Woodrum

Dr. Kim Woodrum serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Kentucky, where she has dedicated over two decades to teaching General Chemistry. Her academic journey began and culminated at the University of Kentucky, where she earned both her BS and PhD in Chemistry, specializing in inorganic chemistry. Her excellence in teaching has been recognized through multiple prestigious awards, including the UK Alumni Association Great Teacher Award (2007), the Provost's Outstanding Teaching Award (2013), and the A&S Outstanding Teaching Award (2013). Her research focuses on Chemical Education, contributing to the development of effective teaching methodologies in chemistry. Through her courses "Advanced Chemistry" and "Chemistry" on Coursera, she continues to expand access to chemical education while maintaining her commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.
