Hamad Bin Khalifa UniversityDr. Hira Amin serves as an Assistant Professor at the College of Public Policy, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, bringing a unique combination of historical expertise and contemporary policy analysis to her work. Her academic credentials include a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics, and a BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy from King's College London. Her research spans two primary domains: social, cultural, and religious transformations in the modern Muslim world, and studies in social inclusion, accessibility, and disability. She has published significant works including research on state aspirations in Qatar, Palestinian Arabs with disabilities in Israel, and the development of Qatar's education system. Her innovative approach combines traditional academic research with modern methodologies, having received specialized training in systems thinking, LEGO Serious Play, participatory co-design, and strategic foresight at the Institute for the Future. Currently, she leads multiple research initiatives focused on education for sustainability, global citizenship, and disability diagnostics in Qatar, while previously serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at HBKU's College of Islamic Studies and as a Lecturer at the University of Kent.
