Dr Golnaz Badkobeh

Professor Golnaz Badkobeh is the Head of the Department of Computer Science at City, University of London. Her research primarily focuses on the combinatorial aspects of repetition in sequential data and algorithmic challenges related to string processing. Notably, she has made significant contributions to pattern avoidance and constraints on strings, which are vital for developing efficient pattern matching and text compression methods. Golnaz holds a PhD in Informatics from King's College London and has previously served as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head at Goldsmiths University of London, along with roles at the University of Warwick and the University of Sheffield.
