Dr Gemma Bend

Dr. Gemma Bend is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Huddersfield Business School, University of Huddersfield, where she has been since 2021 after completing her PhD at the Open University Business School in 2020. She holds a degree in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Master’s by Research from the Open University. Her research focuses on how identities such as gender and disability manifest in different organizational contexts, particularly in sheltered versus mainstream employment. Dr. Bend is actively involved in research related to diversity and inclusion, contributing to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and the British Academy of Management, and she is currently accepting PhD students.
