Dr. Elizabeth Slator is an Associate Director at Rice University, where she has dedicated nearly two decades to teaching and consulting in health, human performance, and behavior change. Her academic focus includes courses on mindfulness, performance psychology, and leadership development. In addition to her teaching role, Dr. Slator serves as a sport psychology consultant for the Rice Athletic Department, develops wellness programs for the campus community, and provides mindfulness-based health coaching for private clients.Dr. Slator holds a B.S. and M.Ed. from Auburn University and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. She is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher, and an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer. Her passion for the intersections of mindfulness, well-being, and nature is reflected in her various programs and retreats that promote these themes. Through her work, Dr. Slator empowers individuals to approach life with authenticity, equanimity, and a sense of joy.
