Dr Clare Brooks

Clare Brooks is a Senior Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Education in London, where she serves as the Programme Director for the MA in Education. With a solid background in geography education, Clare taught geography in London for eight years and also gained experience teaching high school geography in Phoenix, Arizona. Joining the Institute in 2001, she has since worked extensively with both beginning and experienced teachers across various programmes, including the Geography PGCE and the MA in Geography Education. Currently, she focuses on the MA in Education, where she has cultivated a particular interest in online and distance learning. Clare's research centers on teacher knowledge and development, examining how educators navigate their professional compass in daily practice to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
