Dr. Alan Watts

Dr. Alan Watts serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Molecular Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has made significant contributions to pharmaceutical research and drug development. His expertise focuses on advancing drug products through the preclinical stage, with particular emphasis on inhaled formulations and treatments for pulmonary conditions. His research interests span several critical areas including localized treatment of pulmonary indications like asthma and COPD, improving bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs, conducting efficacy studies in preclinical models of airway disease, and developing pharmacotherapy to prolong allograft survival in transplant recipients. At the Drug Dynamics Institute (now i4Health Institute), he works closely with pharmaceutical researchers from both academia and industry, helping bridge the gap between laboratory research and clinical applications.
