Dr. David P. Reed serves as a Scholar in Residence in the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he focuses on the intersection of technology, economics, and public policy related to broadband infrastructure development and operations. His teaching encompasses critical topics such as Data Communications, Internet policy, spectrum management, and broadband access technology. Prior to his current role, Dr. Reed was the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Cable Television Laboratories, Inc., where he led significant R&D projects for the cable industry. He also contributed to policy development at the Federal Communications Commission, working on initiatives related to Personal Communications Services and spectrum auctions. With a rich background that combines academia, industry experience, and government service, Dr. Reed's research interests include creating broadband roadmaps to bridge the Digital Divide, enhancing competition in broadband services, and developing efficient spectrum management models. His extensive expertise is backed by numerous publications and a commitment to improving broadband access and technology for diverse communities.
