David Lapp

David Lapp served as Manager of Globalization and Sustainable Development at Engineers Canada, where he dedicated his expertise to addressing climate change, infrastructure, and sustainability challenges in engineering practice. As a geological engineer and Fellow of Engineers Canada (FEC), he has made significant contributions to developing practice guidance and assessment tools for infrastructure climate risk. His most notable achievement is the development of the PIEVC Protocol, a comprehensive infrastructure climate risk assessment tool adopted both nationally and internationally. Throughout his career, he has focused on integrating environmental sustainability into engineering practices, particularly in climate change adaptation and infrastructure resilience. His work has helped bridge the gap between engineering practice and environmental sustainability, establishing new standards for climate-resilient infrastructure development.
