Dr. David Bishai is a physician and renowned health economist, specializing in the application of systems thinking to public health. He leads the interdepartmental health economics program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he teaches health systems courses. His research is regularly featured in top journals such as Health Economics and Journal of Health Economics, and he serves as an associate editor for Health Economics. Dr. Bishai holds an M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, an M.P.H. from UCLA, and a Ph.D. in Health Care Systems from the Wharton School of Business. He was elected president of the International Health Economics Association in 2015.
