Daniela Andrea Retamales Gomez has established herself as a pioneering social entrepreneur and industrial engineer, combining her technical expertise with social innovation. After earning her Industrial Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and two master's degrees in Management and Social Innovation for Inclusion, she founded the 3D Prosthetic Foundation in 2016. Her organization addresses a critical need in Chile, where over 10,000 people require prosthetic hands, with 90% lacking resources to obtain them. Her innovative approach includes employing youth from detention programs in the design and manufacturing process, creating both social impact and rehabilitation opportunities. Her achievements have earned numerous recognitions, including selection as one of 10 leading social entrepreneurs by Youth Action Net Chile (2017), one of 20 Laureate Global Fellows (2018), and one of Chile's 100 leading women. She serves on the board of Young Crew Chile of the International Project Management Association and was selected for the 2020 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) by the U.S. Embassy. Through her work at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of social innovators.
