Christine Kroll, PhD, is the Assistant Vice Provost and Director of the Center for Educational Innovation (UB CEI) at the University at Buffalo, where she also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication. In her role as Director of CEI, Kroll is leading a strategic plan to collaborate with university deans and faculty to improve student learning outcomes through innovative teaching practices and to transform CEI into a premier teaching and learning center. Previously, Kroll was the Assistant Dean for Online Education in the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at UB, where she developed the university's first blended and fully online programs. Under her leadership, GSE ranked among the top 10 for online programs in the nation (U.S. News & World Report). Her research focuses on enhancing pedagogy for self-regulated learning environments, with a particular emphasis on MOOCs (massive open online courses).
