Cheonjae Lee

Dr. Cheonjae Lee currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Real Estate at Kangwon National University, following his significant contributions at the Technical University of Munich's Chair of Land Management. His academic journey includes studies in urban and regional planning at the University of Birmingham, UK, followed by extensive research experience with public land and housing sectors in Korea. During his time at TUM from 2016 onwards, he conducted doctoral research focusing on land tenure and land governance while coordinating the innovative MOOC "Introduction to Land Management." His research portfolio spans urban regeneration, affordable housing, land administration, and land governance, with particular emphasis on land tenure systems and state restructuring processes. His influential work includes groundbreaking research on land governance re-arrangements in divided nations, sustainable excellence in digital education, and land tenure implications in Korean reunification scenarios. He has made substantial contributions to academic literature through publications examining land governance systems, digital learning in land management, and spatial analysis of land tenure. His expertise bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in land policy, particularly in the context of state restructuring and digital transformation of land administration systems.
