Chen Pengfei is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Astronomy and Space Science at Nanjing University. A graduate of the university’s Department of Astronomy, he earned his Ph.D. in 1999 and has since become a leading figure in the field. He gained international experience through postdoctoral research at Kyoto University, and visiting positions at Alabama State University, Takayama Observatory, University of St. Andrews, Max Planck Institute, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Over his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards, including the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award (2002) and the Cheng Zhongjie Award of the Chinese Astronomical Society (2006). He has been recognized for his contributions to major research projects such as the Ministry of Science and Technology's 973 Program and has been supported by the National Outstanding Youth Fund since 2010. Chen Pengfei’s expertise is widely acknowledged in China's astronomical research community.
