Charles Samson is a Full Professor of Information Processing Systems at the University of Naples Federico II, where he also serves as President of the University Center for Information Services. His research primarily focuses on machine learning, deep learning, and image and video analysis, with applications in biomedical image interpretation, biometrics, computer network intrusion detection, and image forensics. Prof. Samson has coordinated several national research projects in these fields, contributing significantly to the understanding of cyberbullying and network security. He has held leadership positions in professional organizations, including two terms as Vice-President of the Italian Chapter of the International Association for Pattern Recognition. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board for the Italian NVIDIA Artificial Intelligence Technology Centre (NVAITC) and participates in the Management Committee of the National Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems (AIIS) under CINI. With over 200 publications in international journals and conference proceedings, as well as co-editorship of three scientific books, he is a prominent figure in his field, actively involved in organizing international conferences related to pattern recognition and machine learning.
