Dr. Caroline Samer is the Head of the Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Therapy Unit in the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Department at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and a Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Geneva. She chairs the clinical division of the International Union for Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) and focuses on promoting precision medicine approaches in her clinical and teaching activities. Dr. Samer's research aims to personalize drug therapy by investigating gene-environment-disease interactions at the pharmacokinetic level, utilizing advances in various -omics technologies, particularly pharmacogenomics. She has authored numerous scientific publications and is actively involved in multiple national and international collaborations. Dr. Samer received her medical degree from the University of Geneva in 2001, followed by specialization in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology, culminating in a PhD in pharmacogenomics. In addition to her leadership roles, she serves on several editorial boards and has received various grants to support her research initiatives.
