Dr. Carlos Youth Lopez Jimenez serves as Full Professor at the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM-Cuajimalpa) in the Department of Processes and Technology. His academic excellence was evident early in his career when he graduated with First Place Nationally and Outstanding Performance recognition through the CENEVAL exam for his Bachelor's in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the Autonomous University of Yucatan. He continued his education at UNAM, earning both his Master's and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Bioengineering, completing his doctorate in 2014. His research focuses on using biocatalysts for synthesizing chemical species, particularly esters and polymers with novel properties, emphasizing cleaner and sustainable processes. Following his doctorate, he completed postdoctoral research at the Scientific Research Center of Yucatan, focusing on semiconductor nanostructures. His scientific contributions include two first-author publications and a granted patent through IMPI. His teaching experience spans secondary, higher, and postgraduate levels, including positions at CICY, UAEMEX Acolman, UNCOS in Pinotepa Nacional, and currently at UAM-Cuajimalpa, where he teaches subjects across physics, chemistry, mathematics, and engineering.
