Delft University of TechnologyBruno Santos serves as an Associate Professor and Head of Air Transport and Operations at TU Delft's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. After earning his Civil Engineering degree and PhD in Transportation Systems Planning from the University of Coimbra in 2009, he gained valuable experience teaching in the MIT-Portugal Program's Doctoral Program before joining TU Delft in 2013. His expertise spans airline operations optimization, fleet planning under uncertainty, and condition-based maintenance systems. As Scientific Coordinator of the €6.8 million H2020 ReMAP project, he leads innovative research in aircraft maintenance, developing systems that could save the European aviation industry over 700 million euros annually through adaptive condition-based interventions. His research focuses on improving airline efficiency through dynamic scheduling, disruption management, and innovative maintenance planning approaches. He has established strong industry connections through numerous European projects and collaborations with major aviation stakeholders, contributing to both academic advancement and practical industry solutions. Currently, he leads a research group of approximately 25 people, including faculty members, researchers, and support staff, driving innovations in sustainable aviation operations
