Dr. Brenda Hoffman is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science® and the School of Communication and Journalism, where she also directs the Advanced Graduate Certificate in Health Communication and serves as Course Director for Public Speaking. As an affiliated faculty member in the Program in Public Health, Dr. Hoffman's translational work focuses on enhancing health and instructional communication to improve the quality and continuity of healthcare. Her research delves into health literacy, organizational socialization, interdisciplinary teamwork, patient adherence, and communication motives. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Communication from George Mason University, an M.A. in Communication Studies from Texas State University, and a B.A. in Communication from Bryant University.
