Rudy Professor of Information Systems at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, following an impactful 13-year tenure as IU's Vice President for IT & CIO. During his administrative career, he managed a $175 million university-wide IT services unit across seven campuses and later served as Vice President for Communications and Marketing. Wheeler earned his bachelor's degree in business and MBA from Oklahoma State University, followed by a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Indiana University. His achievements include co-founding over $100 million in open source software and service collaborations among universities and corporations, and launching IU's pioneering eTexts initiative in 2009 to reduce student textbook costs. Wheeler's honors include the President's Medal for Excellence (2021), IU Bicentennial Medal (2019), and the Rudy Professorship. As a recognized innovator in higher education technology, he has advised corporate audiences on IT-enabled transformation and cybersecurity across six continents. After retiring from administrative roles in 2020, he returned to full-time faculty duties at the Kelley School of Business, continuing his legacy of academic and technological innovation.
