Awa Babington-Ashaye is a biochemist specializing in virology and molecular biochemistry, with extensive experience in public health and therapeutic development for conditions such as COPD, asthma, and allergies. She has led numerous public health initiatives aimed at preventing and diagnosing infectious diseases, including Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, and malaria, particularly in West Africa. Her work encompasses the implementation and management of disease awareness programs for chronic and infectious diseases, alongside designing educational initiatives for patients. As the Head of Initiatives and Partnerships for Health at United People Global, a Swiss-based NGO, she supports global efforts to curb the spread of SARS-CoV-2 through knowledge dissemination and community engagement. Awa's research focuses on developing e-health solutions for chronic diseases and health communication, with a keen interest in implementing and evaluating digital solutions and patient-reported outcome measurement tools to enhance the quality of life for patients in low-resource settings. She is currently a PhD candidate in Public Health and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Geneva, a visiting professor in Strategy & Health Communications at Grenoble School of Management, and provides training for private sector companies in strategic marketing and communications within the health sector.
