Inter-American Development BankAurelio Mejía serves as Director of Public and Legal Affairs at AFIDRO Colombia, bringing extensive experience in health technology assessment and pharmaceutical policy. After earning his economics degree from University of Antioquia, master's in health economics from University of York, and specialization in Government, Management and Public Affairs from Universidad Externado, he has established himself as a leader in health economics and priority setting. His career includes serving as Director of Medicines at Colombia's Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Director of Regulation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and Technical Director at the Institute for Health Technology Assessment (IETS). Through his roles as professor of health economics at Colombian universities and co-editor of Value in Health Regional Issues, he continues to influence health policy while advancing understanding of economic evaluation and technology assessment methodologies.
