Attila Aşkar serves as a Professor of Mathematics at Koç University, where he previously held key leadership positions including President (2001-2009), Provost (1998-2001), and founding Dean of Arts and Sciences (1993-1998). His academic journey includes an MSc from Istanbul Technical University (1966) and a Ph.D. from Princeton University (1969), followed by postdoctoral research at Brown University. His distinguished career spans prestigious institutions including Boğaziçi University, Paris University VI, Max-Planck Institute in Göttingen, and the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology in Stockholm. His research contributions encompass differential equations, molecular dynamics, quantum mechanics, elasticity theory, and fluid mechanics, with over 95 ISI-indexed publications and two influential books. His work earned him multiple prestigious awards including the TÜBİTAK Science Award, TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award, and the Ministry of Culture Information Age Award. As a full member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, he continues to contribute to academic literature while preparing a four-volume series on calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations for engineering and science students
