École Polytechnique Fédérale de LausanneAnna-Kristin Kaufmann is a neuroscientist at EPFL's Blue Brain Project, where she specializes in domain design and integration of neuroscience data into the Blue Brain Nexus platform. Previously, she worked as an Electrophysiologist at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit in Oxford, studying the intact and compromised midbrain dopamine system in rodents. She completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford in 2017, with her thesis "Functional Properties of the Intact and Compromised Midbrain Dopamine System" under the supervision of Dr. Paul Dodson, Professor Peter Magill, and Professor Paul Bolam. Her academic achievements include receiving prestigious scholarships from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and Medical Research Council for her doctoral studies, and the Max Weber Programme Scholarship for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She holds a Master's in Neuroscience from Oxford and a Bachelor's in Biology from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
