Expert in Empathy, Social Entrepreneurship, and Social Innovation
Dr. Anita Nowak is a Faculty Lecturer at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, specializing in empathy, social entrepreneurship, and social innovation. She has been instrumental in producing the GROOC (Giant Open Online Course) for McGill’s Teaching & Learning Services and previously served as the founding Integrating Director of the Social Economy Initiative. Dr. Nowak believes that empathy is the most transformative force for change when it leads to "empathic action," a concept she explores in her forthcoming book, The Empaths Strike Back. She teaches courses such as Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation and has delivered impactful talks, including her TEDx presentation on the power of empathy. Through her work, she aims to inspire sustainable social change driven by empathic action.
