Aniss M. Mezoued is an architect/urban planner and holds a doctorate in Building Art and Urban Planning. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne –EPFL, in the Laboratoire de Sociologie Urbaine – LaSUR. He is also a guest lecturer at the Université catholique de Louvain – UCL. His research focuses on public spaces, the relationship between transport and urban planning, and the role of actors in the production of territory. After graduating in architecture from the École Polytechnique d'Architecture et d'Urbanisme d'Alger - EPAU (2007) and working for a few years in an architectural firm, Aniss M. Mezoued joined the Université catholique de Louvain to complete a complementary master's degree in urban planning and regional development (2009) and complete a doctoral thesis (2015). The latter is published by the Presses universitaires de Louvain under the title: “The narrative of post-independence Algiers urban planning, past, present, future. In search of the conditions for the institution of public space as mediation and as a project. Case of the Algiers tramway”
