University of MichiganAmitabh Sinha has established himself as a leading authority in operations research and e-commerce logistics, transitioning from academia to industry leadership. After earning his MS from IIT Delhi and PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004, he joined the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where he served for 13 years, rising from Assistant to Associate Professor of Technology and Operations. During his tenure at Michigan, he served as Ford Motor Company Co-director of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations and developed innovative courses including a lab-style class on Big Data for the MBA program. His research, funded by the National Science Foundation and Proctor & Gamble, spans network design, supply chain management, and e-commerce operations, with over a dozen published papers garnering more than 1,700 citations. In 2017, he transitioned to Amazon, where he progressed from Principal Scientist to Director, applying his expertise to real-world e-commerce challenges.
