Harvard UniversityDr. Ameet Sarpatwari serves as Assistant Professor of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute, where he combines his unique expertise as an epidemiologist and lawyer to study pharmaceutical policy and regulation. After completing his undergraduate studies as a Jefferson Scholar at the University of Virginia, he earned his PhD in epidemiology from the University of Cambridge and JD from the University of Maryland as a John L. Thomas Leadership Scholar. His influential research focuses on the intersection of law, regulation, and public health outcomes in pharmaceutical development and access. As Faculty Director of the JD/MPH program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a faculty member at Harvard's Center for Bioethics, he has shaped policy through Congressional testimonies and contributions to major publications. His work on risk evaluation and mitigation strategies, generic drug safety, and drug pricing has been featured in leading news outlets and has influenced pharmaceutical policy reform. Currently leading research funded by the Greenwall Foundation, he continues to bridge the gap between legal frameworks and public health outcomes while teaching a highly regarded course on public health law
