Amancio Cold is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP) with extensive expertise in astronomy, physics, and education. He completed his academic training at USP, earning his undergraduate degree in Physics followed by Master's, PhD and Associate Professor titles from the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG/USP). His international experience includes a postdoctoral position at the Royal Greenwich Observatory and University of Cambridge, as well as visiting researcher roles at prestigious institutions like the European Southern Observatory, INAOE, and Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris. As Coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Astronomy Teaching at IAG/USP, he has made significant contributions to astronomy education, notably co-authoring the Jabuti Award-winning book "Astronomia: uma visão do Universo."
