The Linux FoundationAlka Roy is a distinguished technology leader and innovator who serves as the founder of RI Labs and The Responsible Innovation Project. Her multifaceted career spans product development, emerging technologies, and responsible innovation, with significant contributions to AI ethics and technology leadership. As a former Director of Product and Emerging Tech at AT&T, she successfully launched over 100 innovative Wireless, Cloud, and AI products, including establishing AT&T's Bay Area 5G co-create lab. Her current work focuses on guiding business leaders and organizations in responsible innovation practices, particularly in AI and emerging technologies. She has developed globally-accessed courses on Ethics in AI & Data Science for the Linux Foundation, reaching learners in over 83 countries. Her academic contributions include guest lecturing at UC Berkeley and the University of Notre Dame on Entrepreneurship and Responsible Innovation. Roy holds patents in policy and security frameworks and combines technical expertise (Computer Science & Electrical Engineering degree) with creative thinking (MFA in creative writing). Her contributions have earned her recognition on the 100 Brilliant Women in AI & Ethics List and the National Women of Color in Technology Outstanding Contribution Award. Through her leadership of the LF AI & Data's Trusted AI Committee, she has helped establish principles for responsible AI development that influence the broader technology ecosystem
