Dr. Alicia Vázquez Mendoza serves as Associate Professor "C" at the Faculty of Higher Studies (FES) Iztacala, UNAM, where she teaches in the Optometry program. Her diverse academic background includes a General Nursing degree from the National Polytechnic Institute (1997), a Biology degree from FES Iztacala, UNAM (2008), and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UNAM (2015), which she completed with honors. As a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), she contributes significantly to ocular immunology research. Her expertise includes inflammatory eye diseases and ocular surface disorders, as evidenced by her research publications in peer-reviewed journals. Through her teaching in the Diploma program in Pharmacology and Ocular Therapeutics, she helps train the next generation of eye care professionals. Her research focuses on inflammatory mechanisms in ocular diseases, combining her clinical background with advanced biomedical research methodologies.
