Alicia Baumann

Alicia Baumann serves as Senior Lecturer in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, bringing industry experience as a former senior systems engineer at General Dynamics C4 Systems. Her academic credentials include a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming. As part of the freshman engineering education team, she focuses on enhancing curriculum by incorporating industry standards into hands-on design projects. She teaches across multiple programs including Introduction to Engineering, Engineering Transfer Success, Engineering Futures, and Electrical Engineering courses. Her innovative teaching approaches include implementing gamification elements to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Her excellence in education has been recognized with the Fulton Top 5% Teaching Award, and she was nominated for Badass Women of ASU. Beyond teaching, she serves as the undergraduate adviser for the Society of Women Engineers ASU section, mentoring and supporting the next generation of women engineers. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes integrating large-scale systems engineering techniques into collegiate curriculum to better prepare students for professional careers while developing their resumes from day one.
