Alex McCourt, JD, PhD, MPH

Dr. McCourt is an Assistant Scientist of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with affiliations to both the Center for Gun Policy and Research and the Center for Law and the Public’s Health. As a public health lawyer, he integrates legal research with empirical methods to examine how law influences public health outcomes, with a particular focus on firearm policy and violence, including homicide, suicide, and intimate partner violence. Dr. McCourt earned his PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and holds a JD/MPH from the University of Arizona.
