Indiana UniversityDr. Alex Barsi Lopes serves as Clinical Professor of Information Systems and Grant Thornton Scholar at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. With a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and significant industry experience, he specializes in teaching process modeling, systems analysis and design, data warehousing and visualization, Big Data, AI applications, and technology consulting management. As Director of the Technology Consulting Workshop since 2016, he leads the Robotic Process Automation academic initiative at IU. His research focuses on online information goods, collaboration technologies, social networks, and information systems education, with publications in prestigious journals including Information Systems Research and Communications of the ACM. Lopes has conducted executive education programs and consulting projects internationally in Guatemala, India, and Thailand, earning the Kelley Service Award for his contributions. Before joining Kelley, he served as director of the M.S. in Information Systems Program at the University of Cincinnati, where he won the Westerbeck Junior Faculty Graduate Teaching Award. In his current role as Associate Chair for Kelley Executive Education Programs, he oversees the portfolio of Online MS programs, demonstrating his commitment to advancing technology education and professional development.
